I'd absolutely love to live forever... as long as I had a good out clause should I get tired of it someday, tho doubtful I would. _________________ "Love is the law, love under will." |

it's just so tempting to live long enough to see what this world still has to give and where will all go to. _________________ who dares not speak his free thoughts is a slave.Euripides |

I say that I would love to live forever; I could get to see a lot of places and experience things because I would have so much time on my hands. I wouldn't mind to live even longer than now either. So living forever seems great to me. _________________ "Always be open-minded or let yourself waver underneath the truth." |

Yes, I have, but it has been a while since I have last seen it. Maybe I should re-see it again some time soon...
But what of it? _________________ "Always be open-minded or let yourself waver underneath the truth." |

No. I think 3 or 4 lifetimes would probably be my limit. I think everything, (even the new experiences) would become repetitive. The rhythm of life would eventually become too unbearable and predictable. I know. Deep. But completely honest. |

If anyone can live a 500 year exitance then there will be nothing new to experience or to see. But then to be immortal means aswell you will be alone forever. _________________ who dares not speak his free thoughts is a slave.Euripides |

I doubt seriously that we can attain immortality, although I do believe that seriously decelerated aging is possible. This may or may not hold death at bay. It may be that we all just end up looking good till the end. Anyhow, the legends do persist of ancients wandering about. I have seen topics posted on other boards of people who have seen or felt such beings (although I think it may be more urban myth than fact). Let me get to the point of the question, I would NOT choose immortality. For 2 reasons. 1) I have children, and it would be heartbreaking for me to watch them age and die. It would be a disruption of the natural cycle of things. One should never outlive their offspring. Were my children to inherit vampirism (I believe that my son has) and if his life were to continue unnaturally then I would certainly like to be around to see what unfolds. 2) If I awoke to discover that I was actually immortal, then I believe I would pull a Lestat, and totally come out of the coffin, so to speak. And would probably become a real pain in the ass out of sheer boredom. _________________ Ignorance is not an excuse for evil. |

Thru childeren imortality is achieved.
passing something on to them so they can continu what you have started. Shamfully i do not have childeren neither a wife for people seem to run away from me when getting close. But lately there seem to been have a breakthroug which might break the curse of the loneliness. So one can finally achieve imortality. _________________ who dares not speak his free thoughts is a slave.Euripides |

Soulsplat, that's absolutely true. And even knowing that I would still choose it. In many ways, I feel like I've already done so for so long, even though my physical age tells a different story. But that aside, if something happened tomorrow that enabled me to live forever, I would travel everywhere. Although I imagine I would eventually retreat to a mountaintop somewhere. |
