OnStage Atlanta Auditions for "The Oz Chronicles: OZ in Concert"
WHEN: 7:00 pm - Open call auditions, no appointment necessary.
WHERE: OSA "Rugville" Store - next to Eckerds.
WHAT: One song will be required. Make it your BEST 8-10 bars. An accomapanist is provided for the audition. Casting 15 VOCALISTS age 16 up, and casting 10 younger performers as the "munchkins" along with other various roles. Again, the youth roles must be able to sing. The youth roles do not pay. The vocalists positions pay a stipend. ALL cultures are invited to audition. Black, White, Asian, Indian, whatever! With unconventional casting, the show is about the songs, not the characters, so no "roles" are assigned to the 20 vocalists. The cast will be an ensemble of singers singing music from the three shows. The emphasis is on SINGING (can you tell?) and PERFORMING as a singer. Style is everything. This could also mean that a man might sing a woman's song or vice versa. Some movement will be required. The show is casting early to be able to mold the show around the performers and their talents. However, rehearsals will not begin in full swing until June. Unless you can bust the walls down of the theatre with it, do NOT sing "Over The Rainbow" for your audition. But DO sing something you can bring the house down with. Again, it's all about performance and singing. Tear it up. Partial Song List - Not all songs are listed that are in the concert: From Wicked - "One Short Day", "Defying Gravity", "The Feeling I Get" From The Wiz - "Slide Some Oil", "No Bad News","Ease On Down", "Home" From The Wizard of Oz - "Over The Rainbow", "Ding Dong The Witch is Dead", "If I Were King of the Forest".
