how does one really know where to cut without the donor losing to much blood? I've bled very much just by not beeing aware of what one was doing. Don't try to imagine to the whole dat sitting with your thumb up in class the teachers think you are ok with all they are saying. Rolling Eyes

As much as I'd like to say, "Cut here" and that be true all the time it's not. Everyone is different. And some ppl are hemophyliacs (SP?)... So there's no right answer.

My best advice to you is to let them do it themselves. If you are going to do it, and I suggest you don't, then don't cut too deeply.

There is still the issues of illnesses which run thru the blood or how to know which person is yet infected with it or not. We still live in a era where AIDS & HIV are very active.
So still to tread carefully is all which can be said.

Also keep in mind that by cutting rather than using a needle you are likely going to leave a small scar.

The visibility of this potential scar should be an issue you will want to discuss with a donor BEFORE making a cut.

Does anyone feel like leaving a donation? Wink
It's very difficult to find a good donor without having to find they might have an infection or a virus running thru there blood.

Some scars are not seen by the naked eye.

a trick that i have found very useful is useing a hoby knife put tape on most of the blade except for the very tip maby 1/2 cm exposed
and only make a short cut about 5 cm long i get plenty of blood from such cuts and the sharper the blade the faster your doner will heal from the cut

I agree with Eclecta and others in that there is no particular right or wrong place to cut and each vampyre must establish areas that are going to be comfortable for the donor and the vampyre. I have a donor who doesn't mind scars at all, and so there is really no where that is off limits to me, the only request he has is that the cuts are made below the collar of a shirt due to being in the military.

My own preference is either just below the collarbone, near the nipples on the chest area, thanks to another's suggestions, the inner thigh is quite nice, and the fleshy part of the hand beneath the thumb.

Also, it depends on what you are cutting with as to what type of scars you may or may not leave.. There are many people who use diabetic lancets, which leave no scars at all, and some use scalpels, some use razor blades, some use knives.....It's personal preference...

I would also like to add that you should make sure you KNOW your donor.. There are many blood borne diseases, and I require blood tests on myself and my donors on a regular basis and at any other time that I feel the need. I always foot the cost of these tests myself...

So, there's my dollars worth..

From between the darkness and the light,
Onyx
