I'm looking forward to the responses as to faith/beliefs on the census once everything is up and running... I would start a poll here but I will wait until we can gather results more scientifically. Feel free to post your thoughts on the community and it's relationship or lack thereof with religion. _________________ - Merticus |

Well since we have pagans, christians, wiccans, and satanists all just as part of AVA, I would think we couldn't be termed as a religious cult or sect of some sort. And I am only speaking of our members here.
Now as for the community as a whole. Everyone believes something different. No two ppl think exactly alike, or see things the same.
I'm looking forward to seeing this up and running too. It could prove very enlightening... _________________ "Love is the law, love under will." |

I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are on the vampire church. I heard about it for the first time a couple of years ago. I found it intriguing, but never really researched it much, because they are very secretive, unless you become a member, and I wasn't trying to join. |

The impressions I had from some of its members were generally negative.
As with any organized religion, however, it may just be the members of that church and not the doctrine itself.
From what I recall of what they (the vamp church proselytizers) said of the doctrine, it clashed with my own views of vampyrism (which have changed little in the intervening years).

I don't consider vampirism a religion and hesitate to use the words doctrine and especially church (for community) to describe us... as far as specifics I've never directly looked into the Vampire Church enough to know where they stand on particular issues other than what I've heard here and there over the years. _________________ - Merticus |

I don't really consider vampirism a religion either... But they do have some really good info about some things... I don't agree with everything they say, but they guy Damien DaVille seems to be a pretty smart man. Other than that I dunno.
The ones I find insane are the TOV.. They are basically a marketing scam.. They are the ones I would watch out for, as opposed to Vamp Church whom I think are rather harmless but very knowledgable... _________________ "Love is the law, love under will." |
