I find it very interesting the common threads between the ancient "tribal" religions. Native American, Asatru, Seide, Celts, even the Roman, Greek and Egyptian mythologies/religions.
There is a "vampire" figure almost universally throughout human culture. Seems to be a reflection of humanities primal nature that is easier to villify or shroud in mystery than to rectify ones self with.
Seems when we face our base human needs and desires such as Lust, so many feel the need to justify such tendencies, when in fact most are ingrained survival instincts. Fight, Flight, and Mate. Specifically to proliferate as a species by whatever means necessary.
