Reading list on ceremonial magick
I recommend the following books on ceremonial magick:
Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig (Llewellyn) (to my mind unsurpassed as a solo guide to Western Tradition)
Magick in Theory and Practice by Aleister Crowley (Dover). See especially:
Appendix V, pages 303-324
"Liber E-vel Exercitorem," pages 368-374
"Liber O," pages 375-389 - particularly Section III in which the Master Therion elucidates very simply the taking on of Godforms.
Liber Null and Psychonaut by Peter J. Carroll (Weiser) (Chapter 1 in particular)
Liber Kaos by Peter J. Carroll (Weiser)
Maat Magick by Nema (Weiser)
Condensed Chaos by Phil Hine (New Falcon)
Foundations of Practical Magick by I. Regardie (Aquarius)
The Middle Pillar by I. Regardie (Aquarius)
Simplified Magick by Ted Andrews (Llewellyn)
What Witches Do by Stewart Farrar (Llewellyn)
Mastering Witchcraft by Paul Huson (publisher unknown)
Books on the Kabbalah:
The Mystical Qabalah by Dion Fortune (Weiser)
Ladder of Lights by William Gray (Weiser)
Between Good and Evil by William Gray (Weiser)
Foundations of Practical Magick by I. Regardie (Aquarian)
A Garden of Pomegranates by I. Regardie (Llewellyn)
The Middle Pillar by I. Regardie (Llewellyn)
Simplified Magick by Ted Andrews (Llewelyn)
Imagick by Ted Andrews (Llewellyn) (now called More Simplified Magick)
There are many, many others - just choose wisely.
Yoga and related topics:
Energize by Elrond, Juliana and Sophia Blawyn.(Llewelyn)
Ecstacy through Tantra by Jon Mumford. (Llewelyn)
Yoga, The Iyengar Way by Silva, Myra& Shyam Meheta (Simon and Schuster) _________________ "Love is the law, love under will." |

Although I really enjoy Liber Null & Psychonaut (I really love Carroll), I have a real hard time reading Modern Magick. I don't know if its Kraig I dislike, or ceremonial magic itself. |

I think I find at times that the ritualistic approach is lost on me b/c it leaves me wanting more (which isn't unusual). I find that the more research I do into varying forms of belief and practice the more variation I seek. I really do consider it a learning process - learning what we are drawn to, why we are, what works for us as individuals and what doesn't. Presently I've been drawn more towards the creation of altar spaces (esp. as seen in Island, Spanish and Latin cultures) and the transference between the altar environs and individual(s). |

that can happen when you want to much variety.
One form of magick is diffirent from the other i may believe in magick and read upon witchcraft for what one can find here in Belgium. I will first see that i have one form of magick under controll before switching to something new.
I now only have one book title nocturnal witchcraft by Konstantinos
soon i will have the book of liber chaos. so i always try to follow up on the subject of my needs surrounding magick. _________________ who dares not speak his free thoughts is a slave.Euripides |

Konstantinos is IMO crap! His Nocturnal Witchcraft is OK but It isn't great. Where I fell out with Konstantinos was over his stuff on Vampires. It was total crap. In fact, I'd sent him an email regarding another work of his and we'd had a good conversation about that. Then I read his Vampires book and emailed him and basically, yet more politely told him that it was indeed crap. Never heard from him again. LOL. I think his best effort was Summoning Spirits. |

Oh, please...I don't even need to be taught how to Summon Spirits to make one appear...
I say he is a load of bull, too; I'm not really a big fan of it either... _________________ "Always be open-minded or let yourself waver underneath the truth." |
