Yea but her dad is part of the groupy thing so if they did that it would put blame on it. That's why they had to have an outsider.

Of course, I didnít agree with the episode presenting Vampirism as a religion.

The portrayal of a cult-like gathering didnít settle well with me.  Although, the high class decor was admireable.

And the feeding ďritualĒ was off base.

But I think writing it off, because of the above, would be a mistake.  In the past, media has chosen to focus on a small cross-section of the community. Usually, the young, goth, club kid, RPG demographic.

I was refreshed by the correct choice to present modern Vampires as a diverse collection of everyday people.  The mix included an older business professional and a photographer ďable to see the beauty in everythingĒ.

And these people were level headed. They didnít look down on the human race, see themselves as superior immortals, or think themselves possessed by 500 year old demons.

Still Iíll admit, as the credits rolled, I found myself hoping for an added scene.

Picture a CSI detective (sure, lets go with Senise) interrogating one of the modern Vampires.

Vampire: Are we going to be finished soon. I was hoping to make it to church
Senise: What. Vampire church?
Vampire: No. Iím Catholic. I go to St. Paulís down the Street.

Scene ends with Sinese looking confused but intrigued.

That would have been a lovely ending.

i watched the episode last night and i have to say i was offended by the way the portrayed us on a whole as blood drinking religious nuts. the none violent part was a nice add too, but the over all depiction was that all vampires see their blooddrinking as a religious thing. any thoughts?

I really didn't see a god they worshiped, so other then ritual they could be more seen as a type of fraternity. At least that's the impression I got.
